Sarah and Jared (Ballroom Dancers)

Sarah and Jared are ballroom dancers. I absolutely love working with dancers and working with Sarah and Jared was no exception. We wanted to do something outdoorsy and still show off their lines. So we decided to drive up Little Cottonwood Canyon and look for a location that might work. I was specifically looking for a bridge and river. Here are some of my favorite images from the photo session.

This last image was taken with the camera propped against a rock and Sarah amazingly holding still for a long (nearly 1 second) exposure:

Utah State Fair Photography Competition

This year I was honored to receive three ribbons at the Utah State Fair Photography Competition, one ribbon for each of the three prints that I submitted.

Hannah McKinzie Fitness Model

I had worked with Hannah McKinzie about a year ago. Recently she approached me saying that she had a Fitness Competition coming up and asked if we could do a photo shoot prior to that. So Hannah and I went to the Provo River Falls. Part of the photo shoot was to get some nice head shots, another part of it was to show off her fitness, and another part was simply to have some fun.

Shortly after these pictures were taken, Hannah took 2nd place overall in her Fitness Competition and from there was moving on to national championships.

Beauty and the Beasts

Meet Erin McCowan. She's not afraid of snakes. In fact, when the possibility of posing with a large 8' Boa Constrictor came up, she all but begged and pleaded to do it. And if there's one combination that really works in photography ... it's Beauty and the Beast (or a gorgeous redhead and a couple of snakes).
