Heber Creeper

Growing up, my dad used to ask us kids:

"Railroad crossing look out for the cars, can you spell that without any R's?"

Well.... can you? Leave a comment!

Yesterday we decided to go ride the Heber Creeper!

I haven't been to the Heber Creeper in years. I'm not even sure if they still call it that. When I Google'd the name I found Heber Valley Railroad.

Since I've been working every weekend for months on end (weddings, family portraits, etc), yesterday was a chance to get away from it all and do something different with the grandkids.

So what is the Heber Creeper? It is a nice relaxing train ride through some beautiful scenery. On a hot summer's day (yesterday) it was nice to be in the open air car of the train with the breeze blowing through our hair.

Of course, I couldn't leave my camera home... and equally obvious, I couldn't just take snapshots. So here are a few of my impressions of the outing:

A couple of fun pics of me and the kids:

So next time you're feeling like you've just got to get away... check out the Heber Creeper!

Jess Curren - Pregnant and Beautiful

Jess has gone in to the hospital to have her baby today.  So I guess I had better catch up and get her maternity pictures on the blog before it's too late.  :)

Jess is one of my many wonderful photographer friends.  We simply have an amazing photographic community here in Utah with so many people willing to help each other out.  Jess is one of those and she has helped me with   a bridal session and a wedding.  I very much appreciate her and knowing that she was pregnant offered to do maternity pictures for her.

Meet My Family

This is us... I don't get a chance to do much other than "candid shots" of my own family, but last Sunday the opportunity for Family Portraits arose and so we went for it.

This first shot was done by using a radio transmitter to fire my camera. I hopped in the back of the family and told everyone to look at the camera. AMAZINGLY... they did it. I have a hard enough time when I'm back behind the camera trying to get everyone to look at the camera at once. But here's the proof ... no head-swapping here, this is exactly how I shot the image:

After the big family group we decided to get a few pictures of each member of the family.

My wife, Marilyn, and I:

(yes, the wind is blowing ... we had a fan running to keep us cool - it's a small studio after all!)

Brandy and her kids:

Cassie and David:

Angie and Dan:

(they were having a lot of fun with that picture frame, click here to see more pictures)

And Devon:

And there you have us. Thanks for dropping by! :)
